Jeil Barbershop

Jeil Barbershop is where I get my hair sorted whenever I'm in Da Nang, and honestly the full Korean-style grooming routine here has spoiled me for regular barbers back home. It's on Pham Van Dong in the Korean part of town, and the first time I sat in the chair I realized this wasn't just a haircut — it's the whole hot-towel, ear-cleaning, head-massage treatment done properly. I've been a regular ever since.

What to expect

When I sit down, the barber actually talks through the cut first, which I appreciate, because Korean-style barbers tend to be precise and they want to get the shape right. The haircut itself is careful and clean, with proper attention to the lines around the neck and ears.

Then comes the part I really go for: the hot-towel shave, the ear cleaning, and a head and shoulder massage to finish. It's grooming as a small ritual rather than a rushed trim. You walk out sharp, relaxed, and feeling genuinely looked after.

The space and service

The shop is clean and orderly, with classic barber chairs, good mirrors, and that tidy, well-kept feel you want when someone's holding a razor near your face. Tools are sterilized and everything is laid out neatly.

The barbers are skilled and unhurried, and a few of them speak Korean and basic English, so explaining the style you want is easy enough. They're attentive without being chatty if you'd rather just sit back. I've sent a few friends here and they all came out looking better than they expected.

Location & getting there

Jeil is on Pham Van Dong in the Korean town area, a short Grab ride from the My Khe beach hotels, usually under ten minutes. If you're staying near the beachfront it's an easy walk in the evening. The street around it is full of Korean restaurants and cafes, so it's a good area to grab dinner after you've been cleaned up.
