Benz Karaoke

I first wandered into Benz on a Friday night when a couple of friends from my building dragged me out, and I've been back more times than I can count since. It sits right in the thick of the Pham Van Dong strip, which locals here just call Korean town, and it has that easy, lived-in energy where nobody's trying too hard. You walk in, the staff actually remember your face after a visit or two, and within ten minutes you've got a room, a mic, and a fridge full of cold drinks.

What it's like

Benz is the kind of place you end up at without planning to. It's not flashy from the street, but inside it's clean, comfortable, and built for actually singing rather than posing for photos. The crowd is a mix of Korean residents, expats, and visitors who heard about it from a friend.

What keeps me coming back is how unfussy it is. You order drinks, you queue up songs, and the night just rolls. Staff are quick with refills and quick to swap out a mic if one starts cutting. It's the closest thing I've found to a neighborhood living room that happens to have a sound system.

Rooms, sound & vibe

The rooms range from cozy four-person nooks to bigger setups that fit a full table of friends. Lighting is warm rather than strobing, screens are large and bright, and the song search handles both Korean and English titles without much fumbling.

Sound is genuinely solid for the size of the place. The bass doesn't muddy up the vocals, and even when you crank it the room next door isn't bleeding into yours. It's a singing-with-your-crew vibe, plain and simple.

Location & getting there

Benz is in Pham Van Dong, the Korean town district, so it's an easy walk from most of the hotels and restaurants in that area. A Grab from My Khe beach or the river side of town runs short and cheap, and the street outside is busy enough that getting a ride home afterward is never a problem.
