Cheon Spa 38.5

Cheon Spa 38.5 became my go-to in Phu My Hung after a long week of sitting at a desk wrecked my lower back. It is a Korean-run spa in District 7, and the 38.5 in the name refers to the body-temperature water they use, which tells you the kind of detail they care about here. From the moment you swap your shoes for slippers, it feels organized and genuinely relaxing.

What to expect

You can keep it simple with a body massage, or go the full route with a Korean-style scrub and sauna. The scrub is the real draw, that exfoliating treatment that leaves your skin ridiculously smooth and is hard to find done well outside Korea.

The therapists are firm and know what they are doing, so if you carry tension in your shoulders and back, say so and they will work it out. They check in on pressure rather than just going through the motions, which I appreciate after a few mediocre spa visits elsewhere in the city.

The space and service

Inside it is clean, warm and quiet. The locker and shower areas are well kept, the sauna is hot the way it should be, and there is a relaxation area to sit with tea afterward instead of being pushed straight out the door. Everything is spotless, which for a spa matters more than any fancy decor.

The staff are used to a Korean and expat clientele, so communication is smooth even if you only speak English. They explain the steps, give you privacy, and the pacing never feels rushed. It is the kind of place you finish and immediately want to rebook.

Cheon Spa 38.5 is in the Phu My Hung district of District 7, an area packed with Korean cafes and restaurants, so you can easily build a whole afternoon around it. If you are local it is a short walk or bike ride; coming from District 1, budget around twenty-five minutes by Grab.
