Public Karaoke out in Phu My Hung was a pleasant surprise the first time a District 7 friend brought me along. The whole Phu My Hung area is cleaner and more spread out than the central districts, and the venue matches that, modern, comfortable, and clearly built for the expat and family crowd that lives nearby. I've since made it my default whenever I'm on that side of the river.
This isn't AI. I'm based in Vietnam and write these from real visits — I check out each place myself.
What it's like
Phu My Hung has a calmer, more suburban feel than central Saigon, and Public fits right in. It's the kind of spot where you'll see groups of expats, young professionals, and families all out for a relaxed night. There's none of the backpacker hustle, just a clean, well-run karaoke place.
Service is friendly and organized. They get you settled quickly and let you do your thing. Because the area is residential and international, the atmosphere is easygoing and the staff are used to handling a mix of locals and foreigners with no fuss.
Rooms, sound & vibe
The rooms are modern and well maintained, with comfortable seating and big clear screens. Sizes go from intimate to group-friendly, and even the smaller ones feel airy rather than cramped. Lighting is adjustable and the spaces felt genuinely clean.
The sound is excellent for the price point. Mics are crisp, the speakers are well balanced, and the catalog is strong across English, Korean, and Vietnamese, which suits the international crowd that fills the place. Queuing songs on the system was smooth and fast.
Location & getting there
Public Karaoke is in District 7's Phu My Hung, the modern planned area south of the center. A Grab from District 1 takes a bit longer crossing the bridge, but the ride is easy and cheap. If you're already living or dining in Phu My Hung, it's right on your doorstep with plenty of restaurants nearby.
