Aurora Karaoke became my go-to for low-key nights when I don't want the chaos of the backpacker strip. It's tucked into the Ben Thanh area of District 1, and the whole place has a calmer, slightly more grown-up feel. I've taken both work friends and visiting family here, and it works for both because it's clean, comfortable, and genuinely about the singing.
This isn't AI. I'm based in Vietnam and write these from real visits — I check out each place myself.
What it's like
Aurora doesn't try too hard, and that's the appeal. Reception is straightforward, the staff are friendly without hovering, and you're in your room within a couple of minutes. It feels more like a comfortable lounge you happen to sing in than a flashy nightlife venue.
The vibe is mellow. I've been on nights where it was mostly couples and small groups of friends, everyone just enjoying their own room. If you want something that feels safe and unfussy, especially if it's your first time doing karaoke in Saigon, this is an easy first pick.
Rooms, sound & vibe
The rooms are tidy and well kept, with soft seating and lighting you can dial down for ballad mode or up for the singalongs. Sizes range from intimate two-or-three-person rooms to bigger ones for a proper group. Everything felt maintained, not worn out.
The sound holds up nicely. Mics are clean, the speakers are balanced rather than just loud, and the catalog has a solid spread of English, Korean, and Vietnamese tracks. Searching for songs on the tablet was painless, which matters more than people admit.
Location & getting there
Aurora Karaoke is in District 1 near Ben Thanh Market, so it's smack in the middle of the city. Any Grab will find it without trouble, and if you're staying central you can walk over. It pairs well with a dinner around the market, and there's plenty nearby if you want a drink before or after.
